File Transfer Information

Fast transfer of a larger chunk of information without waiting for the slow bottleneck of input-output of the Internet. Transferred file is in Excel (or by arrangement Lotus). Normally the files are compressed using the zip command. The files can be unzipped by using WinZip or equivalent software. Zipping the files allows for a faster transfer rate and a lower connect time. The transferred files are copied and saved as zipped files into the directory of your choice. (If you do not have a Zip program click on WinZip at the top right hand corner, and download a demonstration version via the WinZip web site.) It is now necessary to unzip the saved files. Once the Miru files have been downloaded and unzipped, the data (as normal with an Excel file) can then be manipulated, modified or printed. Sub-totals and your own analysis can be easily carried out.

Given the bottlenecks likely to be experienced on Internet, the file transfer service offers the best way of maximising the information transferred per Internet connection.

Information can be selected for the whole of Western Europe by country, the whole of Western Europe, or by an individual manufacturer. For other areas in the world by arrangement. For the world, selections can be made by manufacturer across whatever domain of countries is desired or even world-wide. Specific questions can be answered for every country (over 100 countries maintained in incredible detail) where there is an assembly plant, however small. E.g. list all history and forecast of Toyota Corolla production (including associated platforms) throughout the world.

Western Europe: Country files. For Western Europe the countries that can be selected include: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The files that can be accessed for each country include:

xxxx_dp.xls = Detailed Model and Plant (the most detailed available)
xxxx_dm.xls = Detailed Model (but no plant information). Note detailed model is close to bodystyle, though bodystyle files are available (but not yet on Internet).
xxxx_m.xls = Model. The normal files which show most of the medium term model cross-over points (i.e. Fiesta to New Fiesta).
xxxx_mpl.xls = Model and Plant. That is the Model files as above but with plant data (i.e. Fiesta at Dagenham).
xxxx_mo.xls = Model Summary. This shows model data with no model cross-over points.
xxxx_ms.xls = Model Series. This has no model cross-over points (as Model Summary) but also compresses car-derived vans, and other car derivatives into the model they are derived from.

Note that the DP (detailed model and plant files) may not always be available because of space limitations. Ring (+33 4 93 65 70 70) if you can't find any file.

Western Europe: Manufacturer files. For Western Europe the manufacturers are arranged in the following way. The first name is the one that accesses all the following names:

The files that can be accessed for each group of manufacturers include:

Model and Plant information

xxxx_dp.xls = Detailed Model and Plant (the most detailed available)
xxxx_mpl.xls = Model and Plant. That is the Model files with most model cross-over points shown but with plant data (i.e. Fiesta at Dagenham, New Fiesta at Dagenham).
xxxx_plm.xls = Plant and Model. This shows plant and then model data with most (but not all model cross-over points shown (i.e. Valencia; Ka production; Fiesta production; and Escort production).
xxxx_pl.xls = Plant Summary. This shows summary production by plant and daily running rates by plant. The full files can be sent on disk by post or courier (ring +33 4 93 65 70 70) but their size is too large to store on-line.
For some manufacturers, Miru has provided selected Eastern European or US data on a model and plant level of information. These are BMW (US), Fiat (Poland), Ford (Poland), GME (Poland), Mercedes (US), Renault (Slovenia), Suzuki (Hungary), and VW (Skoda).

Model only information (with no plant data)

xxxx_dm.xls = Detailed Model (but no plant information). Note our detailed model is close to bodystyle, though bodystyle files are available (but not yet on Internet).
xxxx_m.xls = Model. The normal files which show most of the medium-term model cross-over points (i.e. Fiesta to New Fiesta).
xxxx_mo.xls = Model Summary. This shows model data but with no model cross-over points.
xxxx_ms.xls = Model Series. This has no model cross-over points (as Model Summary) but also compresses car-derived vans, and other car derivatives into the model they are derived from.

Note that not all the files may be provided for all manufacturers. This is particularly true of the smaller producers. Ring (+33 4 93 65 70 70) if you can't find any file.
